These Terms govern use of Koine websites, apps, App Clips, host consoles, listener apps, and related services. Koine is a product of VOIS AI AS, organisasjonsnummer 936 920 594, Alsvågveien 509, 8432 Alsvåg, Norway ("Koine", "we", "us"). By creating an account, purchasing a service, or using Koine, you agree to these Terms.
Who may use the service
You may use Koine if you can legally agree to these Terms. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to configure sessions, recordings, billing, and listener access for that organization.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account, password, sign-in method, and activity under your account. Keep credentials secure and notify us if you believe an account has been misused.
Live translation and AI output
Translations, captions, transcripts, Bible verse suggestions, AI chat answers, summaries, question cards, and podcast scripts/audio are generated by automated systems and may contain mistakes. They should be reviewed for important, legal, medical, safety, educational, theological, or financial decisions.
Organizer responsibilities
Organizers are responsible for obtaining any required notice, consent, copyright permission, and recording permission for their event. Organizers choose whether transcripts, recordings, replays, and BibleSense features are enabled.
Bible text and licensed content
Bundled Bible text must be public-domain or redistributable. If an organization uses copyrighted Bible versions, imported text, slides, audio, or other licensed content, that organization is responsible for having the necessary rights or API keys.
Payments and subscriptions
Paid plans, event passes, add-ons, and personal Intelligence subscriptions are billed as shown at checkout. Apple in-app purchases, subscription management, cancellations, and refund requests are handled through your Apple account and App Store settings. Google Play purchases are handled through your Google account and Google Play settings. Organization account billing, where available, is handled under the applicable organization agreement. Any mandatory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Personal plans and packs are shown as the total you pay, with any value added tax included. Organization plans, event passes, and add-ons are shown before value added tax; where tax applies it is calculated and added at checkout, and a business with a valid VAT registration number can enter it so the reverse charge is applied instead. The amount due is always itemised on the checkout page before you confirm.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account, from the host console, or through the App Store or Google Play depending on where you bought. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
Right to cancel — angrerett (consumers)
This section applies if you are a consumer, meaning you buy for purposes outside your trade or profession. It does not apply to a church, school, business, or other organization buying an organization plan, event pass, or add-on.
You have 14 days from the day your purchase is confirmed to withdraw from it, without giving a reason. To withdraw, tell us clearly before the 14 days are up — an email to hello@getkoine.com saying you want to withdraw is enough. You may use the standard withdrawal form from Forbrukertilsynet, but you do not have to. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method you paid with.
When the right ends early. Koine is delivered digitally and is available the moment you buy it. At checkout you are asked to confirm two things: that you want access to start immediately, inside the 14-day period, and that you understand your right to withdraw ends once it does. If you confirm both and we start delivering, you lose the right to withdraw. If you would rather keep the full 14 days, do not confirm — contact us and we will hold the purchase until the period ends.
If you withdraw after asking us to start. For a subscription, you pay a proportionate amount for the part of the period already provided, and we refund the rest. For a one-off pack of hours or AI allowance, we refund the unused balance in proportion to what you have not consumed.
Your confirmation is recorded against the purchase, and we will send you a copy on request. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to those stores' own cancellation and refund processes, which apply in addition to this right.
Acceptable use
Do not use Koine to break the law, infringe rights, harass others, reverse engineer the service, overload systems, bypass limits, scrape private data, or submit content you do not have the right to process.
Availability
Live translation depends on internet access, audio quality, browser or app capabilities, and third-party providers. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Intellectual property
Koine and its software, design, branding, and documentation belong to us or our licensors. You keep rights to your event content, subject to the permissions needed for us and our providers to process it and deliver the service.
Termination and account deletion
You may stop using the service at any time. Signed-in listeners can delete their account in the Koine mobile app through Settings and Account settings. Organizers can delete account data from account settings in the host console. Deleting a Koine account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, so the app also provides the applicable store subscription-management action. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, non-payment, security risk, or legal reasons.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections and any right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction remain unaffected. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a dispute. A consumer who is not satisfied with our answer can bring the complaint to Forbrukerrådet, which mediates, and from there to Forbrukerklageutvalget. Unresolved disputes may be brought before the competent Norwegian courts, subject to mandatory consumer rules.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the product changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users or customers. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
